Alberto Monje, DDS, MS, PhD, earned his DDS in 2011 at the European University of Madrid, Spain and then moved to The University of Michigan to start his research career as a clinical post-doc. He obtained the certificate and Masters in Periodontology from the University of Michigan, Department of Periodontics and Oral Medicine mentored by Dr. William V. Giannobile and Dr. Hom-Lay Wang. Since them, He is certified by the American Board of Periodontics.
He was the recipient of the ITI Scholarship for 2016-2017 at the University of Bern (Switzerland) mentored by Prof. Daniel Buser.
His majors are peri-implant diseases, guided bone regeneration, and evidence-based dentistry. Moreover, he is member of many professional organizations and serves as referee and editorial committee member for many highly impact journals in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry. Currently, he holds a private practice exclusive in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry (CICOM Periodoncia) and since 2017 has an appointment as faculty member at the Department of Periodontics of the International University of Catalonia (Barcelona, Spain) and at the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor, USA).
Dr. Alberto Monje is PhD in the field of alveolar bone architecture granted by the University of Granada (Spain) and is the co-editor of the book “Unfolding peri-implantitis”.
